What was your highest peak this week?

For Casper Wood, it might just be capturing this beautiful shot of an Alaska Aircraft upon arrival at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport on Delta flight 411 from Minneapolis.

Casper’s view from the window, showcasing the snow-covered mountains, brings us a refreshing breeze amidst the heat we’re experiencing.

While the mountains in Pennsylvania may not be as high as those in Alaska, the Keystone State offers its own exciting sights – and where better to find them than near Pittsburgh International Airport.

Nancy Lewis took this photo of the Touch-a-Truck: Sea, Land, Air and Space Expo event held by the Military Affairs Council of Western Pennsylvania. Approximately 5,000 guests attended from the Tri-State area.

The free, family-friendly event near the 911th Airlift Wing in Moon Township featured a close-up look at a range of aircraft such as the KC-135 Stratotanker, C-17 Globemaster III and MH-53 Sea Dragon, among others. Visitors had the opportunity to explore military ground-support vehicles like the Joint Light Tactical Truck, Mine Resistant Vehicle and Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck.

Thank you, Casper and Nancy, for capturing these meaningful photos!

Our readers continue to pass along shots of unique aircraft, international airports, historical events, gorgeous views, and even family vacation photos for this feature. We love them! Keep them coming — you can click here for submission guidelines.
