More than 1,300 runners raced on Pittsburgh International Airport’s airfield Saturday, as the fifth FlyBy 5K returned after a year’s hiatus.

In addition to the 5K, the event offered a 2-Mile Fun Run and Walk. Runners ran a flat course that took them past a KC-135 Stratotanker from the 171st Air Refueling Wing, a C-17 Globemaster III from the 911th Airlift Wing and a STAT MedEvac helicopter.

In conjunction with P3R and lead sponsor CNX Resources, the event is another opportunity to use the airport’s unique space to benefit the community, officials said.
