A busy month for Breeze Airways at Pittsburgh International Airport continued last week with gate events for new routes to Long Island-Islip, N.Y., and Jacksonville, Fla.

Breeze became the first airline to serve Islip from PIT nonstop in over 25 years and becomes the second carrier to serve Jacksonville alongside Allegiant Air.

The celebrations capped an eventful May for the airline, which also launched nonstop service to Norfolk, Va. and Raleigh-Durham, N.C.

On June 2, twice-weekly service to Portland, Maine, will begin.

In addition, Breeze announced it will start nonstop service between Pittsburgh International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport starting Sept. 8.
