Aviation gives us new perspective of our earth.

Sure, a satellite view is a few clicks away – but there’s nothing like seeing the world from above with your own eyes.

Taken from a Norwegian Air 737, Blue Sky News alum Matt Neistein snapped a picture of mountains in southwestern Norway near the city of Bergen.

Norway is known for breath-taking mountains, fjords and lakes.

You can see that there are still patches of snow everywhere – and where there isn’t snow, you can see lakes dotted throughout.

In contrast, John Williams took this photo above Pittsburgh on a warm summer day at sunset – capturing a great view of our beautiful city, with its bridges, stadiums, and skyscrapers.

Seeing Pittsburgh from the air gives us a new perspective and appreciation for our home – both Pittsburgh and the Earth itself.

Thanks, Matt and John, for your impressive photos!

Our readers continue to pass along shots of unique aircraft, international airports, historical events, gorgeous views and even family vacation photos for this feature. We love them! Keep them coming — you can click here for submission guidelines.
