On Jan. 16, Pittsburgh International Airport hosted eight regional media outlets for a tour of the new terminal, which is opening this year. Construction has reached 80 percent completion.

Christina Cassotis, Allegheny County Airport Authority CEO, showcased one to the key features: a bridge and tunnel that will seamlessly link the new terminal to the current airside terminal. ACAA Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer Paul Hoback Jr. talked about improvements to the arrival and departure areas; four outdoor terraces, including two post-security; and the baggage system and baggage claim area.
