Breeze Airways is adding its first international flights from Pittsburgh International Airport along with a new Florida destination as the carrier continues its growth in the market.
On Tuesday, Breeze announced a multi-route expansion from PIT that will bring nonstop service to Cancun, Mexico, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, as the airline’s first international service ever offered from the airport, and Vero Beach, Fla., Pittsburgh’s first flights to the state’s Treasure Coast.
Service to Vero Beach will begin Oct. 1, 2026, and flights to Cancun and Punta Cana service will begin Jan. 7, 2027. The new routes will operate three times a week seasonally on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays flown with 137-seat Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
Flights are for sale and can be booked at FlyBreeze.com. Breeze is offering special one-way fares starting at $89 to Vero Beach and $179 to Cancun and Punta Cana to celebrate the new routes.
“We are thrilled by the growth we have seen in Pittsburgh are excited to start offering international service to guests in the area,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO. “Vero Beach, Punta Cana, and Cancun are destinations we know our guests will love and we can’t wait to welcome them onboard.”

The expansion puts Breeze up to 18 nonstop routes from Pittsburgh, second only to Southwest Airlines’ 21 destinations for the most served at PIT. Since entering the Pittsburgh market five years ago with four initial markets, the airline has capitalized on Pittsburgh by successfully expanding into underserved markets with its “point-to-point” network structure with fuel-efficient Airbus A220 aircraft, offering an elevated onboard experience and affordable fares.
“Breeze is a fantastic partner in Pittsburgh, and we are thrilled to support their continued growth and investment with these three new routes,” said Bryan Dietz, Senior Vice President, Air Service and Commercial Development at PIT. “With 18 destinations available from Pittsburgh, Breeze offers travelers more options to places they want to go at a customizable price point to fit any budget. Thanks to Breeze for their commitment to the Pittsburgh region and demonstrating the strength of our market.”
Cancun and Punta Cana are Breeze’s first international routes to join its Pittsburgh network. The carrier began international flights in January 2026 shortly after gaining flag carrier status from the FAA, granting Breeze the necessary certification for operating routes outside the U.S.
To Cancun, Breeze joins existing scheduled service offered by American Airlines and Southwest seasonally, and charter service by Apple Vacations and Vacation Express. To Punta Cana, Breeze also joins American’s scheduled service, launched in December 2025, and charter service on Apple Vacations and Vacation Express.
Breeze’s three times weekly schedule expands PIT’s nonstop service to Cancun and Punta Cana, offering increased capacity and significantly more schedule flexibility for travelers.

Vero Beach is a new market added to PIT’s route map, becoming the airport’s 65th nonstop destination. It is the third new market added from PIT this year, joining Breeze’s new service to Louisville and the airport’s highly anticipated Dublin service on Aer Lingus launching May 25.
Vero Beach is one of the fastest growing tourist markets in the Sunshine State and has become a popular destination for its beaches and small-town atmosphere. The region reported a nearly 19 percent rise in tourism revenues in 2025, outpacing its growth projections, while Vero Beach International Airport saw its annual traffic grow from 86,000 passengers to 177,000 in 2024.
Breeze’s announcement comes shortly after the airline began new service between PIT and Louisville on April 30 and ahead of its Myrtle Beach serving launching July 3. Nonstop flights to Louisville and Myrtle Beach operate seasonally, with Louisville flights offered on Sundays and Thursday and Myrtle Beach on Mondays and Fridays.
Additionally, Breeze has begun phasing in its summer schedule from Pittsburgh, resuming numerous seasonal routes including Greenville-Spartanburg, Jacksonville, Fla., and Portland, Maine, May 1, Norfolk-Virgina Beach and San Diego May 8 and Los Angeles June 2.
