The multi-layered project to modernize Pittsburgh International Airport took another big step forward Friday.
The Allegheny County Airport Authority Board of Directors awarded an $8 million contract to Pittsburgh-based Michael Baker International to provide architectural and engineering design and construction services for landside projects as part of the Terminal Modernization Program, or TMP.
The contract represents the first of two phases to design and construct a new multi-use parking garage and ground transportation center, rental car facilities, parking lots, access roads and more. The total contract for both phases of design is estimated to be $18.1 million.
