Behind the Scenes: PIT’s ‘Nerve Center’ Is 24/7 Operation

Pittsburgh International Airport is a 24/7 operation, 365 days a year, where safety and security are always the top priority.

From monitoring the airfield to what’s happening in the terminals, Operations personnel are the eyes and ears of the airport and that includes around-the-clock inspections—even at 2 a.m.

In the early morning hours, while most are sleeping, important work goes on at the airport. Blue Sky News is taking you behind the scenes of Airport Operations at PIT as they inspect the airfield at night and the thousands of lights that help keep planes on track.
