Summer flew by as always, but that means that football season is here. Preseason is almost over and play-by-play announcers will soon marvel at how well Steelers Nation travels, filling up away stadiums with black and gold and a sea of Terrible Towels.

To make things easier for the best fans in the NFL, we offer our first-ever Steeler Nation Travel Guide.

Sept. 9: New England Patriots

Getting there: JetBlue and Delta both offer flights to Boston

What to do: It’s a Sunday night game, giving you extra time to sightsee. Boston, of course, is loaded with history and it may be fun to run past the Paul Revere House and Old North Church yelling, “The Stillers are coming! The Stillers are coming!” But since it will still be early September, we suggest you catch Saturday’s Yankees-Red Sox game at Fenway Park.

Sept. 22: San Francisco 49ers

Getting there: United offers Flight 2228 non-stop to San Francisco

What to do: San Francisco has so much to do you might want to skip the game! The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Pier 39, Chinatown, Union Square … the list goes on. But, really, we think there is only one choice: Napa Valley and wine country.

Oct. 13: Los Angeles Chargers

Getting there: “We’ve got Spirit, yes we do!” Spirit offers daily nonstop service to L.A.

What to do: OK, you may not be a Star Wars geek, but by all accounts Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attraction is amazing. So get your lightsaber, connect with your inner Yoda and head to a galaxy far, far away. And remember: the Force is with the Black and Gold.

Nov. 14: Cleveland Browns

Getting there: It’s OK. Just drive.

What to do: We’ll take the high road. Cleveland is a cool town with lots to see – Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the “Christmas Story” house and the Flats. It’s just not Pittsburgh.

Nov. 24: Cincinnati Bengals

Getting there: Again, enjoy the drive.

What to do: Quite honestly, we can’t think of anything to do in the Queen City other than watch the Steelers dominate the Bengals. So stop in Columbus – it’s a nice city and the Nittany Lions have a game there on Saturday, if you’re into Big Ten football.

Dec. 8: Arizona Cardinals

Getting there: American and Southwest both offer daily nonstop flights to Phoenix

What to do: Blue Sky suggests a sunrise hot air balloon ride into the wild blue yonder. Although you’re going closer to the sun in the hot desert, remember: It’s a dry heat.

Dec. 22: New York Jets

Getting there: United offers daily flights to Newark, while American and Delta offer daily flights to LaGuardia and JFK

What to do: Other than stalking Le’Veon Bell to compliment his rapping? The city that never sleeps offers Broadway, the Statue of Liberty, the 9/11 Memorial, Empire State Building and so many other great attractions. We suggest visiting 30 Rockefeller Center, home of NBC studios and one of America’s most famous Christmas trees.

Dec. 29: Baltimore Ravens

Getting there: Southwest flies daily to Baltimore

What to do: Sure, there’s the Inner Harbor and the Fort McHenry National Monument. But it’s late December – you should be warm indoors, where maybe a heartbeat is coming from the floorboards. That’s right! Visit the Edgar Allen Poe House. It surely will be scarier than the Ravens’ defense.
