As travel ramps back up for the final holiday rush of 2022, Pittsburgh International Airport is spreading cheer throughout its terminals.
Last month, the airport’s iconic 26-foot holiday tree reappeared in the Center Core of the Airside Terminal, providing a majestic backdrop for photos and a centerpiece for a week full of special events.
On Monday, Dec. 19, and Thursday, Dec. 22, the beloved PIT PAWS therapy dog team will parade through the Airside concourses and volunteer ambassadors will give away treats and swag to passengers from a table in the Core.
In addition, a gingerbread house display made of balloons will be set up Monday for festive holiday photo opportunities in the Core. It will remain through Monday, Dec. 26.
The airport will welcome WQED-FM to the airport on Tuesday, Dec. 20, for live interviews with airport staff and classic holiday music in the Core.
On Wednesday, Dec. 21, and again on Friday, Dec. 23, the airport will stage a complimentary hot beverage station in Baggage Claim, with volunteer ambassadors serving coffee and hot chocolate and handing out candy canes to passengers and guests.
The station will operate from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.
And all week long, the airport’s customer experience staff will be walking through the terminals handing out candy canes.
