New PIT Terminal Draws Worldwide Attention

Pittsburgh International Airport’s new terminal opened on Nov. 18, drawing attention from the region, aviation industry and even national late-night television.

Pittsburgh native Jeff Goldblum, appearing on “Late Night with Seth Myers” on Nov. 17, gave a shoutout to the new terminal. Goldblum discussed his visit to Pittsburgh where he appeared at the new terminal gala on Oct. 11, performing with his Mildred Snitzer Orchestra band and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Meyers, who was in Pittsburgh for the Steelers game, said he flew out of the airport’s old terminal on its last day in operation. He called the new terminal “a beautiful architectural feat.”

More than a dozen outlets and over 30 journalists and reporters were on hand covering the transition and opening of the new terminal on Nov. 18. Members of the media interviewed the new terminal’s first passengers, with many expressing their excitement and the improved passenger experience of the new airport.
