Some of Pittsburgh International Airport’s newest routes added in 2025 are seeing service expanded as U.S. carriers begin transitioning their schedules for fall travel.
JetBlue Airways’ service to New York-JFK will expand with a second daily flight starting Sept. 3 while Breeze Airways is extending its seasonal nonstop service to Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C., from late August through early January. Both routes began operating on May 1.
JetBlue returned to the PIT-JFK route earlier this year after last operating the route from 2006 until 2013, joining its existing daily flights to Boston. The low-cost carrier has provided an additional option to the competitive New York City market where American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, Spirit Airlines and United Airlines fly multiple daily flights between PIT and New York’s three main airports at JFK, LaGuardia and Newark.

JetBlue’s additional daily flight between PIT and JFK will add an afternoon arrival and departure to its existing daily flight, which will continue to operate with a morning departure to New York-JFK and a night return to Pittsburgh.
A second daily flight also opens more connectivity and flexibility for Pittsburghers transiting through JetBlue’s JFK hub, particularly to the airline’s strong Caribbean network and elsewhere through JetBlue’s extensive list of global partner airlines.
Breeze’s new service to Greenville-Spartanburg launched this year restored Pittsburgh’s connection to upstate South Carolina for the first time since 2004 when the airport was a US Airways hub. Greenville-Spartanburg is part of PIT’s robust network to the Carolinas which also includes nonstop service to Charleston, S.C., Charlotte, N.C., Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Raleigh-Durham, N.C.

An up-and-coming tourist market, Greenville-Spartanburg has seen its tourism sector grow in recent years with more visitors flocking to the region’s outdoor attractions and historical sites. Clemson University – located an hour’s driving distance from downtown Greenville – is one of the largest schools in the Southeastern U.S. and an NCAA Atlantic Coastal Conference rival of the University of Pittsburgh.

Greenville-Spartanburg also hosts numerous outdoor fall events such as Fall for Greenville, a multi-day festival with live music, food and entertainment; Oktoberfest with German food, beer and music; and fall foliage viewings at multiple state parks nearby.
Additional new and resuming routes from airlines at PIT are also being added for travelers this fall.
Allegiant Air’s seasonal flights to Phoenix-Sky Harbor, which launched in February and operated through early May, will resume Oct. 3 with service operating twice a week. Allegiant flies the Pittsburgh-Phoenix route along with American and Southwest Airlines’ daily service.
In addition to expanding its Greenville-Spartanburg route, Breeze is now offering its twice weekly nonstop service to Norfolk-Virginia Beach through January. It will also continue its seasonal service to Portland, Maine, through Nov. 30 with twice-a-week flights.
American will also expand service to the Caribbean at PIT with seasonal, Saturday-only service to Cancun returning on Nov. 8. This service will be joined by American’s new seasonal, weekly service to Punta Cana launching Dec. 6.
To Europe, Icelandair will continue its four-times-a-week service to Reykjavik through Oct. 26. British Airways will also operate daily service on its Pittsburgh-London route until Oct. 31 before reverting to its four-times-a-week winter schedule.
