JetBlue has added another unique livery to its lineup of specialty aircraft.

The airline recently debuted “BlueUnity,” an Airbus A321 dedicated to JetBlue’s 23,000 employees. The livery’s rollout comes as JetBlue celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Designed by JetBlue crewmember Ray Mathew, BlueUnity is painted in an eye-catching light blue shade with various design elements paying tribute to its employees. The front half of the A321’s fuselage includes a body tagline, “Honoring the fly-est crew in the biz,” while the rear fuselage and tail represent JetBlue’s pilots, flight attendants, customer agents, ground crews and operations staff.

To mark the anniversary, BlueUnity operated a special JetBlue flight #1 from New York-Kennedy to Fort Lauderdale on Feb. 11. JetBlue employees and passengers celebrated the flight at JFK airport’s Terminal 5 with dignitaries and guests onboard from the airline’s first flight 25 years ago.

“Building a unique culture focused on caring for the crewmembers was always core to the JetBlue model, and this new livery speaks to exactly that,” JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty said in a statement. “It’s truly awe-inspiring to think about the countless individuals, many working behind the scenes, who make our airline so special. Painting it on the side of a plane lets everyone in on the secret of JetBlue’s success—our crewmembers.”

BlueUnity joins a number of vibrant special liveries in JetBlue’s fleet.

JetBlue has paint schemes dedicated to military veterans, the New York Police Department and Fire Department of New York. It also has special liveries promoting its professional sports team partners including the Boston Celtics and Red Sox, the New York Jets and Islanders and Brooklyn Nets.

Additionally, “JetBlue for Good” represents the airline’s culture of doing good and “Bluemanity” is dedicated to its crewmembers and core values. It also features liveries promoting its core markets like “I <3 Blue York” for New York and “Bluericua,” for Puerto Rico.

JetBlue is in the process of its first major rebrand in its history, featuring a livery that debuted in 2023. JetBlue is gradually updating its fleet with the new scheme.

Starting with just 10 destinations, JetBlue has grown into a global airline serving over 100 destinations across 31 countries and three continents. In Pittsburgh, JetBlue operates daily flights to Boston and will resume nonstop service to New York-Kennedy starting April 30.
