For avgeeks, there’s nothing quite like capturing a perfect aircraft shot – whether on the ground or in the sky – and our submissions this week prove that a perfect aviation photo can be taken at any time and sometimes where you least expect it.

Charlotte Siobhán captured an after-dark photo of a Spirit Airbus A320neo parked on the runway at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP). Shadowed by the night sky and illuminated by the glow of its neighboring aircraft’s lights, the yellow livery stands out against the night sky.

While Spirit isn’t flying nonstop to MSP from PIT, Pittsburgh travelers can now take advantage of Spirit’s new nonstop offerings – including year-round flights to New York-LaGuardia, Los Angeles and Boston.

Meanwhile, PIT passengers looking to capture photos like Charlotte’s at MSP can fly nonstop to the city all year on Delta Air Lines or seasonally on Sun Country Airlines.

Our second photo this week comes from Blue Sky News’ own Julie Bercik. The blue waters over the Caribbean give us one last taste of summer before we creep into autumn. However, Pittsburghers don’t have to say goodbye to views like these just yet; PIT offers nonstop flights to Punta Cana all year long.

Thanks, Charlotte and Julie!

Our readers continue to pass along shots of unique aircraft, international airports, historical events, gorgeous views and even family vacation photos for this feature. We love them! Keep them coming — you can click here for submission guidelines.
