Air Force aircraft not just a thrill, but defenders of freedom

Military planes often inspire awe and patriotism as symbols of our country’s strength.
And military flyovers are fixtures at important moments, notably sports games, across the country. The thundering sound of military jets crossing the sky above—at precisely the right moment—is always a thrill.
Regular training missions for military aircraft at bases across the country provide opportunities for photographers to capture compelling images of the planes in midflight.
Connor Ochs recently snapped this photo of an F-16 aircraft at Luke Air Force Base outside of Phoenix, part of the 310th Fighter Squadron.
And it’s not just fighter jets that protect our nation. Military cargo planes are also important and a key piece of American might.
Mark Yazer took this photo of an Israeli Air Force C-130 aircraft over the Sea of Galilee.
The C-130 Hercules is capable of operating from rough dirt strips and is the prime transport for air-dropping troops and equipment into hostile areas. The C-130 fulfills a wide range of operational missions in both peace and war situations for the U.S. Air Force and other allied nations
