North Carolina has many beautiful cities that all serve different purposes.

Raleigh is best known as the state capital while Durham has a stellar reputation for achievements in medicine. The two cities meet at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, perhaps best known for its prime plane-spotting locations.

This week, Devin Eatman (@east_coast_aviation) sent us a photo of a FedEx Boeing 767-300F arriving at RDU from Memphis. Although the plane in his photo is only two years old, the 300F has been flying since the 1990s.

This model is more fuel-efficient than previous models and other aircrafts of similar sizes, and it can carry over 400 cubic meters of cargo that can weigh more than 50 tons.

The fuel efficiency is a win-win for the aircraft; it’s better for the environment and it keeps costs lower. Since the model started flying in 1995, FedEx has become the first carrier to receive more than 100 767-300 freighters.

Meanwhile, on another RDU runway, Taylor Franks took off for Orlando, Florida. She was lucky enough to capture a sunrise from her A320 Airbus.

The colors melt together in the sky, reflecting onto the plane’s wings and below onto the shore. The city behind soaks up the last of the nighttime shadows before the sun comes up: a perfect view for any passenger to start the morning.

Thanks, Devin and Taylor!
