As the Paris Olympics kick off, we are going international this week!

Connor Ochs took an amazing photo of a McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) in England. This massive airshow, which sees upwards of 115,000 attendees, ran from July 19-21 at Royal Air Force Base Fairford, in the rolling hills of the Cotswolds in England.

This warbird is part of the Hellenic Air Force (Air Force of Greece), specifically the 338 squadron. Connor’s photo shows the distinct paint scheme on the tail of this F-4E.

Our second photo comes from Jeff Cole, who snapped it at Changi International Airport (SIN) in Singapore. This is the “HSBC Rain Vortex,” the tallest indoor waterfall in the world. A marvel of engineering, the waterfall stands at 130 feet above the ground while dumping 10,000 gallons of recycled water each minute.

The waterfall sits at the center of the Shiseido Forest Valley, an indoor greenhouse that takes up five stories of this massive airport.

Although PIT won’t have a waterfall inside its new landside terminal, we will have some features that are uniquely Pittsburgh. Because we’re a bridge and tunnel city, the new terminal will boast a connecter bridge and tunnel connecting you with 62 destinations and counting.

Thank you, Connor and Jeff, for your amazing photos!

Our readers continue to pass along shots of unique aircraft, international airports, historical events, gorgeous views, and even family vacation photos for this feature. We love them! Keep them coming — you can click here for submission guidelines.
