Given the weather so far in 2022, who isn’t thinking about a sunny Caribbean vacation?

The Cayman Islands are always a favorite destination spot for travelers—at least since 1503, when Christopher Columbus was making his fourth and final voyage to the New World. Winds blew his ship off course, and he happened upon the islands.

Luckily for us, there are easier ways to get there today. In fact, Cayman Airways has been the national flag carrier for the island since 1968, a mere 465 years after Columbus.

A recent Cayman Airways landing at PIT reminded us of warm and sunny skies ahead. Simon Brown snapped this shot of the carrier’s Boeing 737 taking off from PIT juxtaposed with tree branches encased in ice from a recent storm.

That winter landscape might be a better fit in Moscow. Cue Laura Woodside, of Rutherford, N.J., who took this picture as she flew over Moscow in February 2019 en route from Newark, N.J. to Singapore on an Airbus A350-900ULR. (The ULR stands for ultra-long range.)

Thanks Simon and Laura for your submissions!
