A unique design feature of the new terminal is over 4,000 constellation lights, which will provide intuitive wayfinding for passengers.

The constellation lighting and wood-like ceiling panels are two essential elements of NaTeCo, the design philosophy of nature, technology and community behind the new terminal.

The second photo this week comes from the safety team at the new terminal. They took the stunning image of a rainbow arching over the new airport on Nov. 20, just before a powerful storm passed through the region.

Irish legend has it that leprechauns bury pots of gold at the end of the rainbow. We can’t say we’ve found buried gold on airport property, but the new terminal will bring new and exciting economic opportunities to the region when it opens in 2025.

Our readers continue to pass along shots of unique aircraft, international airports, historical events, gorgeous views and even family vacation photos for this feature. To find out more, click here for photo submission guidelines.
