Here at Blue Sky News, we’ve been soliciting cool aviation-related photos from our readers for nearly a year.

You’ve sent us tons of shots of planes in flight and on the ground; airports and ramp areas; the sky and clouds – and more.

But what we rarely get are pics of non-fixed-wing aircraft, otherwise known as helicopters.

So we were delighted to receive this photo from Matt Slafka of a police chopper making a landing at a “Cars & Copters on the Coast” show in Huntington Beach, Calif., last year.

And while we receive sunrise and sunset photos fairly regularly, we never tire of them. Sandra Dorman’s submission of a sunrise as seen from Concourse A at Pittsburgh International Airport warmed our hearts quite a bit.

Thanks, Matt and Sandra!

Our readers continue to pass along shots of unique aircraft, international airports, historical events, gorgeous views and even family vacation photos for this feature. We love them! Keep them coming — you can click here for submission guidelines.
