There’s a pretty good chance you’ve never seen a Boeing Dreamlifter in person. After all, there are only four in existence.

The highly customized 747 was designed and built by the company to carry large airplane parts around the globe, particularly for the 787 Dreamliner, which inspired its name.

One of the most common places to find Dreamlifters is in Charleston, S.C., one of two Dreamliner assembly sites that Boeing operates. Devin Ruhotina spotted one there at Charleston International Airport.

However, we think that all airplanes are “dreamlifters,” in a way. Motorized flight remains a magical experience more than 100 years after its invention and still inspires us to reach higher and higher.

And, of course, no one dreams bigger than children. Which is why we loved seeing this photo of Tina Schranz’s young family in her husband’s workplace: a cockpit.

Thanks, Devin and Tina!
