This has been a landmark year for Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), culminating in the opening of its new transformed terminal.

On Nov. 18, 2025, PIT’s new terminal became fully operational and opened to the public, kickstarting the next era of air travel in Pittsburgh. As we look ahead to the next year and PIT continues to welcome community members to its new terminal for the first time, it’s a good time to reflect on the moments that led up to Opening Day.

PIT’s Transformation Featured at Passenger Terminal Expo & Conference

Several months before the transformed PIT opened its doors, the airport was placed on a global stage at the worldwide Passenger Terminal Expo & Conference held in Madrid, Spain, from April 8-10.
