The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has released its free 2026 TSA Cutest Canine Calendar, featuring Pittsburgh International Airport’s very own explosives detection canine Steeler.
The calendar is an annual tradition honoring the agency’s more than 1,000 explosives detection canines working at airports across the United States. It highlights extraordinary canines selected from 97 teams submitted nationwide. Each month features photos and fun facts about the dogs, and information about the TSA Canine Training Center.
Steeler, a nearly 3-year-old Labrador retriever and winner of the 2025 TSA Cutest Canine Contest, is pictured on the cover and is August’s feature dog.
Steeler works alongside his handler, Mark Smith, keeping the traveling public safe through his doggone sniffing abilities. He enjoys fetching balls, playing with a tug rope, and eating jumbo hot dogs. Steeler and the rest of his litter were born on Super Bowl Sunday in 2023 and all are named after NFL teams.
The 2026 TSA Cutest Canine Calendar is available for free online download.
