Where can you bid on a snowplow, decommissioned police vehicles, a Cartier women’s watch, Louis Vuitton hat, PlayStation 4 and Toca hand percussion drum?

These and thousands of other items are part of the Allegheny County Airport Authority’s (ACAA) annual auction of used equipment and lost and found items. This year’s auction is online only.

To view the available lots and to make a bid, visit Joe R. Pyle Auctions. The final round of bidding ends on Monday, Oct. 27, beginning at 5 p.m., with one to three lots closing every three minutes. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds.

The auction lineup is a curious mix of the practical and peculiar: walk-behind mowers, Allegheny County Department vehicles, sunglasses, jewelry, tablets, phones and other electronics.

Most of the items were turned into the airport’s Lost and Found and went unclaimed for more than 30 days.

The auction utilizes a “soft close” format, which means that bidding will continue as long as bids are being placed. When a bid is received in the final 60 seconds, the lot will automatically extend its closing deadline by 60 seconds to allow other bidders to respond. This offers a more natural online auction experience and encourages bidders to watch and participate as the lots close in rapid succession.

Winning bidders can pick up their items on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Joe R. Pyle Warehouse in Washington. Joe R. Pyle Auctions can facilitate shipping through a third-party shipping partner, Spry’s Mail Center-Plus of Wheeling, West Virginia, at (204) 232-1885. All shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility.

Bidders winning vehicles will need to tow their items from the auction site unless purchased by a dealer with appropriate plates.

There will be a 15 percent buyer’s premium on all purchases. Payment, inclusive of any taxes and fees for items purchased, must be made in full before items are picked up.

For complete auction rules, check online.
