From faster access to the terminal to enhanced safety and streamlined service, parking at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) makes your trip more convenient and offers the peace of mind that comes only with onsite parking.
Whether you’re dropping in for a quick business trip or heading out on an extended vacation, onsite parking provides multiple choices—from premium spaces closest to the terminal to value-friendly options. You choose what works best for your schedule and budget.
With the opening of the new terminal, PIT’s passengers will now enjoy a smarter parking experience, thanks to the approximately 6,000 new parking spaces and additional lots. The enhanced parking offerings are one of the first steps in elevating the passenger experience at the transformed PIT, which opens on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The New Terminal Garage Where Convenience and Proximity Meet
The new Terminal Garage is a short, five-minute covered walk into the new terminal. It features over 3,200 public spaces, with 2,400 of these covered across three parking levels, doubling the availability of covered spaces compared to the existing terminal’s Short Term Garage.
Finding a parking spot has never been easier. The new garage was built with the latest technologies and thoughtful design for visitors of all abilities as part of the airport’s commitment to Universal Access. The smart Parking Guidance System shows real-time space availability and digital displays provide a live count of available spaces per level and row. Green lights will signal available spaces. Blue lights will signal available accessible parking spaces, and no light indicates a spot in use.
Each level uses a distinct color and regional name to make parking locations easier to identify and remember. The levels are:
- Level 2 (Purple) is called “Robotics Row,” which pays homage to the region’s innovation culture and extensive network of robotic companies – and their supporting institutions.
- Level 3 (Gray) is aptly named “Steel City” after Pittsburgh being the center of steel production in the United States over 100 years ago.
- Level 4 (Blue) is named “City of Bridges” because the city’s 446 bridges are more than any other U.S. city and, by many estimations, more than any city in the world, including Venice.
- Level 5 (Gold) is known as the “City of Champions” level due to the city’s success in winning numerous sports championships.
The garage is also equipped with advanced, eco-friendly snow-melt technology to keep Level 5 clear and open throughout winter. Patrons will also have free access to electric vehicle charging spaces throughout each level.

Terminal Lot – The Fastest, Most Convenient Lot
Adjacent to the new terminal is the new Terminal Lot, a flat-grade, paved surface lot with over 2,800 spaces. It offers a convenient and quick 3–5-minute walk to the ground floor of the new terminal.
The Terminal Lot also features 50 accessible parking spaces.
Park Like a Pro with PIT Executive Parking
Whether you are catching an early morning flight or returning late from a business trip, PIT Executive Parking helps you park smarter and travel easier.
The PIT Executive Lot is designed for the busy professional, frequent flyers and anyone who appreciates premium service. Located on the second level of the Terminal Garage, a limited number of reserved spaces are just steps from the terminal.
Imagine pulling into a secure, covered, well-lit lot, scanning your reservation, parking and walking straight into the terminal in minutes. No waiting. No worries.
The PIT Executive Lot offers unlimited length of stay. Lease terms include a flat monthly rate. The lot also offers premium spaces for reasonable rates, especially with pre-booked reservations, which are required. No drive-up option is available.
Accessible and electric vehicle charging spaces are also available in the PIT Executive Lot.

The New Shuttle Lot Offers Unmatched Convenience and Value
The Long Term Lot and part of the Extended Lot have been combined to create a new, stress-free parking experience named the Shuttle Lot. An expected journey time to the terminal of 10 minutes is less than any other local off-airport parking company. Only passengers parking onsite at PIT’s Shuttle Lot will be dropped off at the Departures level, just outside of the airline ticket counters and the airport’s new state-of-the-art security checkpoint.
And for passengers returning to PIT, after collecting their luggage at the new, faster baggage claim, they are just steps away from boarding the exclusive on-site shuttle pick-up location on the Arrivals level.
With over 8,000 spaces, the Shuttle Lot features a fleet of eight new 35-passenger shuttle buses that will transport passengers to and from the terminal, tripling the number of shuttle buses previously available. The buses boast enhanced features, comfort, improved accessibility and more space for luggage.
One of the most notable additions to the shuttle fleet is the “kneeling” capability that simplifies entry and exit for individuals with reduced mobility or those managing wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, luggage and other mobility aids. Two digital displays onboard provide real-time flight information and other notifications.
And as part of the airport’s commitment to resilience, these new shuttles run on compressed natural gas (CNG), which reduces emissions.

In the Shuttle Lot, passengers will utilize new heated shelters that feature real-time shuttle tracking on digital screens and a call button for reaching a customer service representative 24/7 when needed.
Each shelter also has a unique color and name, assisting with recall. These new shelters are:
- Sapphire – “Champions”
- Brown – “Steel”
- Purple – “Bridges”
- Blue – “Robotics”
- Emerald – “The Burgh”
Passengers who departed Pittsburgh prior to the new terminal opening and parked in the Short Term, Long Term or Extended lots but will return through the new terminal will use the shuttle to return to their vehicles. Cars already parked in existing lots will still be able to exit.

A Variety of Options at Affordable Rates for All Travelers
Parking at PIT is not only convenient, but it also offers the best airport parking rates, especially when pre-booked at least three days in advance. Pre-book reservations for the new Terminal Garage, Terminal Lot and Shuttle Lot will be available beginning Friday, Nov. 14, and can be made at PARKatPIT.com. All pre-bookings made between now and Nov. 14 will automatically be transferred to the new parking product once the terminal opens, locking in the current pricing.
Convenient features continue when exiting airport parking. Each lot offers several contactless payment options, including pay stations, tap-in/tap-out without a ticket, QR codes with reservations and toll tags for PIT Express Pass.
All of the airport lots feature time-tiered pricing, available to all passengers for all durations of stay.
Greater Peace of Mind
Safety and security are also a priority when parking at PIT. On-site parking offers airport-operated 24-hour surveillance security and is regularly patrolled by the Allegheny County Police. So, you can travel confidently knowing your vehicle is protected.
Free Wait Lot or “Cell Phone Lot” Returns
PIT has added a new Free Wait Lot for passengers being picked up. Drivers can now park for up to an hour free, eliminating the need to circle the campus, and avoiding a ticket by Allegheny County Police for parking along the side of the road.
We’ve Got You
PIT is providing enhanced customer service support for passengers who park in existing parking locations and depart from the current terminal (prior to Nov. 18) but return to the new terminal on Nov. 18 or after. Dedicated parking customer service representatives, identifiable by their purple high-visibility vests, will be stationed throughout the parking lots and new terminal to provide assistance and support.
