Fall has almost arrived at Pittsburgh International Airport. But before we say goodbye to long sunny days, PIT team members are sharing some of their favorite summertime shots.

The first photo this week comes from Ron Welsbacher from PIT Airline Services. He captured this bright photo of two Spirit Airlines aircraft parked on the runway.

The Airbus A321 (left) and Airbus A320neo (right) shine in the sun, their liveries complemented by the same shade of yellow flowers beneath them. These planes were no doubt preparing to fly to one of Spirit’s 11 nonstop destinations from PIT.

The second photo this week comes from PIT’s own Tullio Petito from Engineering, who captured this in-flight photo on Southwest while heading to Florida. Southwest currently flies nonstop to plenty of destinations in Florida including Orlando, Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale, Sarasota, Tampa and more. With warmer days waning, the closer Pittsburgh gets to autumn; PIT travelers can escape the cold for Florida beaches all year long.

Thanks, Ron and Tullio!

Our readers continue to pass along shots of unique aircraft, international airports, historical events, gorgeous views and even family vacation photos for this feature. We love them! Keep them coming — you can click here for submission guidelines.
