Pittsburgh International Airport’s new terminal is capturing attention as it steadily makes progress toward opening its doors in 2025.

Todd Wilson captured a stunning photo of PIT’s uniquely X-shaped airside terminal from a Frontier Airlines flight to Philadelphia, with a clear view of the new terminal project under construction

At the bottom left, beneath the aircraft wing, you can spot the new parking complex, including nearly 5,000 parking spots – 3,300 public spots and 1,165 reserved for rental cars. This triples the current number of covered parking spots. In April, PIT celebrated the “Topping Out” of the new parking garage, marking a key construction milestone.

Also, try to spot Icelandair, our newest airline, on the airfield taxiing to its gate after arriving from Reykjavik.

Our second photo this week was taken by Beth Harrison. This cloudy photo showcases the front side of the new terminal, which consists of nearly 103,000 pieces of architectural glass to make it easier for passengers to view takeoffs and other airport operations. The glass also allows the beauty of Western Pennsylvania to shine inside our new airport.

Our new terminal is over 60 percent complete, so keep an eye out as it reaches its goal of completion in 2025!

Thank you, Todd and Beth, for these beautiful photo progressions of our new terminal.

Our readers continue to pass along shots of unique aircraft, international airports, historical events, gorgeous views and even family vacation photos for this feature. We love them! Keep them coming — you can click here for submission guidelines.
