The opening of the new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport made worldwide news, but it was just the most visible of the many innovations at PIT in 2025. From the expansion of the solar grid to plans to develop the nation’s first on-airport sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production facility, the Allegheny County Airport Authority continues to be a leader in energy innovation. But the achievements don’t stop there. The year’s growth in air service culminated with the announcement that Aer Lingus will begin non-stop flights to Dublin, increasing the number of non-stop destinations to 63.
